Unapologetic Boundaries: The Version of Me I Fought Hard to Become
“Your boundaries won’t scare away the right people — they’ll filter out the wrong ones.”
If you had told me a few years ago that I’d be sitting here — sick, exhausted, and actually allowing myself to rest without guilt — I never would have believed you.
Back then?
I was a people pleaser in recovery.
A doormat with a smile.
The girl who said “yes” even when everything inside her screamed “absolutely not.”
I would bend, collapse, rearrange, apologize, and twist myself into whatever version made everyone else comfortable.
And the worst part?
I felt guilty for having needs at all.
Fast-forward to today — November 19 — and I’m in a completely different chapter.
Not because the world around me changed…
but because I finally did.
The last few months have been a crash course in alignment, boundaries, and honoring my energy.
The kind of growth I never saw coming, but absolutely needed.
And this week — being knocked down by the flu and forced to slow the hell down — highlighted something huge:
I no longer feel bad for taking care of myself.
Not even a little bit.
I used to feel selfish for resting.
Selfish for protecting my energy.
Selfish for saying “not today.”
Selfish for letting myself heal.
Now?
I understand something I wish I’d known years ago:
👉 You can’t build an empire on an empty tank.
👉 Rest is not optional for leaders.
👉 Healing is not weakness — it’s maintenance.
And the best part?
My clients — the aligned ones, the ones I'm meant to work with — get it.
They support me.
They encourage me.
They tell me to rest, reset, and come back when I’m strong again.
Not one ounce of guilt.
Not one ounce of pressure.
Just genuine understanding.
That’s how I know I’m surrounded by the right people now.
Because here’s the other honest truth I’m no longer afraid to say out loud:
If someone expects me to push through being sick…
If someone thinks I should sacrifice my well-being to meet their timeline…
If someone views me as a machine instead of a human being…
Their place on my client roster will be available the moment their contract ends.
No drama. No explanation. No apology.
I’ve worked too hard to rebuild myself, my peace, and my boundaries to let anyone take me back to the version of me who didn’t value her own needs.
This chapter is about honoring my energy, my health, and my truth — fully and unapologetically.
And the woman I am today?
The one who says no when she needs to, rests when her body demands it, and refuses to shrink?
She’s the version I fought damn hard to become.
And I’m not going back.
💜 Here’s to boundaries that hold, self-worth that stays solid, and clients who align with the healed version of you — not the one who used to overgive.
