Stretchy Growth, Scary Steps & Moving Forward Anyway

Stretchy Growth

"Growth doesn't usually show up looking like confidence. Most of the time it shows up looking like fear, uncertainty, and a giant to-do list."

Today might technically be a holiday south of the border, but around here it's business as usual. Coffee's poured, the to-do list is staring me down from across the desk, and there are some seriously exciting things happening behind the scenes.

Both for my business and for one of my clients, we're standing at that point where the planning stage is over and the action stage begins. You know the place. The one where you've done the research, built the foundation, mapped out the next steps, and suddenly realize the only thing left to do is actually take the leap.

And if I'm being honest, that's the part that tends to make people freeze.

Not because they don't know what to do. Not because they aren't capable. But because growth is stretchy. Growth is uncomfortable. Growth asks you to become someone you've never been before, and that can feel scary as hell.

The funny thing is, a few years ago I probably would have interpreted that feeling as a sign to slow down. To wait. To gather more information. To take another course. To find another expert. To make another spreadsheet.

Now I recognize it for what it is.

Expansion.

The nervous system doesn't always know the difference between danger and growth. Sometimes the butterflies, the overthinking, and the urge to procrastinate aren't warning signs. Sometimes they're simply proof that you're stepping into a version of yourself you've never fully embodied before.

So today I'm choosing movement.

Not perfect movement. Not flawless execution. Just movement.

A big recording session with a client is on deck. There are decisions to make, projects to push forward, and a whole lot of exciting things taking shape behind the curtain. Some of them feel a little scary. Some of them feel really scary. But every single one of them feels aligned.

And I've learned that's usually the clue.

If it excites me and terrifies me at the same time, I'm probably headed in the right direction.

So here's your reminder today: don't mistake discomfort for a stop sign. Sometimes it's just proof you're growing.

Feeling stuck between where you are and where you know you're meant to be?
