Mercury Went Direct... But I Think I Did Too
"Sometimes the biggest shift isn't happening in the sky. It's happening inside of you."
Apparently early mornings are just my thing this week because once again, I was up before the rest of the world decided to join me. At this point I'm not even questioning it anymore. Coffee was brewed, the dogs were looked after, and before most people were starting their day I'd already managed to cross a surprising number of things off my to-do list. Mind you, every time I crossed something off, it felt like two more things magically appeared. You know those days where you're incredibly productive but somehow your list never seems to get any shorter? Yeah... welcome to Friday.
The big headline today, though, is that Mercury has officially stationed direct.
Now before everyone starts celebrating, let's remember we're still in the post-shadow period for another couple of weeks. The retrograde may technically be over, but we're still integrating everything it stirred up. Honestly, when I look back over the last few weeks, I can only describe them as absolute chaos. Schedules changed. Plans changed. My perspective changed. There were technology hiccups, business pivots, conversations I never expected to have, and even a few friendship dynamics that shifted in ways I didn't see coming. Looking at it all written out, it would've been easy to convince myself everything was falling apart.
Except...
It wasn't.
It was reorganizing.
And that's a very different thing.
I think that's probably the biggest lesson this retrograde has given me. Not that life suddenly becomes easy because you understand astrology, but that understanding the energy changes the way you respond to it. Every time something unexpected happened over the last few weeks, I found myself taking a breath before reacting. Instead of immediately assuming the worst, I'd catch myself thinking, "Okay... let's see what this is trying to show me." I'd make notes. I'd sit with it for a day or two. I'd let my emotions settle before deciding what, if anything, actually needed my attention.
That wasn't always me.
There was a time when every schedule change felt like a crisis. Every disagreement needed to be solved immediately. Every unexpected detour convinced me I was somehow failing. This time... I still had the emotions. Trust me, I absolutely had the emotions. But I didn't let them drive the bus. That's a huge difference, and honestly, I don't think I would've noticed it if I hadn't been paying attention.
Life is still life after all.
Weekend plans changed again because hubby now has to work tomorrow. Of course, my first thought was, "Well... there goes the weekend." Then we realized it means he'll have a three-day weekend next week instead. Deal. I'll happily make that trade. It's funny how quickly our perspective can shift when we stop focusing on what we're losing and start looking at what we're gaining instead.
Today is one of those beautifully full days. Client meetings, a Solex demo, planning sessions, research, catching up on the couple things that slipped through the cracks this week, and somewhere in there I need to completely rework my calendar for next month. Eclipse season is sitting just over the horizon, and if Mercury Retrograde taught me anything, it's that future me will be incredibly grateful if present me gets her shit together before the next wave of cosmic craziness rolls in.
So that's exactly what I'm going to do.
One meeting.
One project.
One calendar block at a time.
Because while Mercury may have officially turned direct today...
I think I did too.
